The most of my professional carreer as psychologist I have worked with disabled children with special needs / children and adolescents with moderate disabilities. I have worked with training, care and health promotion for these children and adolescents, worked therapeutical as clinical specialist in psychology, as educating counsellor, and later on as associate professor in psychology with University Colleges, in Telemark and Lillehammer, Norway.
I was psychologist in former special schools in Norway some years, working in cooperation with both parents and educators. Then I was many years in regional centres for educational and psychological help for children and youth with special needs and problems in ordinary primary and secondary schools, leading one of them in 13 years. I have been member of boards for special schools, and member of the govermental committees who analysed care for disabled people in Norway (NOU 1985: 34) preparing the HVPU-reform (1991), - the latest national reform for disabled people in Norway.
Since 1996, when the Unesco- prosject Culture is Healthy started in Norway, I have collaborated in different Norwegian and Scandinavian networks and projects together with volunteers and professionals, with the prime aim to strengthen the prophylactic and health-promotional efforts of local communities and municipalities with a basis in cultural life locally and regionally.
Since 2006 I have been associate professor Lillehammer University College, Faculty of Education and Social Work, Department of Health and Social work, with the responsibility for planning and leading a new practical-theoretical study Psycho-social work with children and adolescents, from 2014 a new master in Psycho-social work with children and adolescents.
I hope my short presentation above will give you enough information for further contact and considerations about cooperation with me in your Centre for applied research and training in a network project. If you require any further information feel free to contact me, or may be we could afford to meet to discuss this project and possible partnership.
